Volunteer for the Tour
DOCENTS
The Tour cannot take place without a very large number of docents.
Our docents guide tour-goers through the homes, point out and explain interesting features, answer questions, and more. It is a great opportunity to work with neighbors old and new, and for high-school and college students to get community service hours. Docents are given a script to guide them at the beginning of their shift so there's no pressure to memorize or have particular expertise. Ticket takers check tourgoers in at each home and help others purchase admission.
Docents get a free ticket to the Tour to use outside of their shifts!
We will have a Docent Volunteer Sign Up closer to the Tour. Stay tuned and thank you for your interest.
HOUSE MANAGERS
Two House Managers are responsible for each home over the course of the Tour and share responsibility between the two. House managers are the Tour Committee's and Home Owner's point of contact, they help manage the home's docents, answer questions, and more.
All serving as House Managers are given Tour tickets, and also included in all Tour-related events, including our fantastic Druid Hills Gala at Callanwolde on 4/24!
TOUR COMMITTEE
The Druid Hills Civic Association has a committee dedicated to organizing and running the Historic Druid Hills Home & Garden Tour each year.
We have several leadership roles and committee members who offer help with tasks, provide input, and more. All serving on our committee are given Tour tickets, and Tour leaders are also included in all Tour-related events, including our fantastic Druid Hills Gala at Callanwolde!
